NEHAL RAVAL BIOGRAPHY – HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Nehal Trivedi Raval is a singing star of resonating tunes of Indian vocal music, Hindustani classical and Semi-classical songs, ghazals, and bhajans. People stand enthralled and exhilarated by her voice.
Inspired and inducted into music at the age of 8 years by her parents, Mr. Arun and Mrs. Minaxi Trivedi, Nehal stands trained by Late Shri Prabhakar Barve Ji, the Prime Guru, who introduced her to Indian classical music and imparted the knowledge of the structure of Indian classical music as well as of singing classical and semi-classical songs for four years.
THE PERFORMER:
Nehal has been singing commercially for the last 36 years devotional, spiritual, classical, and fusion songs and has dedicated her talent to Indian music. She does concerts successfully everywhere in India and the USA. In her musical performance career, she has always been given good, selected concerts with a number of artists, well-known musicians, and accompanists with numerous instruments. It is very gratifying to know that people will remember and appreciate Indian music through her voice for a long time.
THE TEACHER:
Nehal teaches North Indian classical and semi-classical vocal music. She has 24 years of experience and has had many individual students. She participated in a seminar discussion on jazz music and North Indian classical music at San Jose State University in California. She is a Sangeet Vishard, and she has a graduate degree in music offered by Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. As a music teacher, she conducts vocal workshops. She has trained students from ages 4 to 72 and all levels, from beginner to intermediate to advanced.
THE Composer:
It is joyous occasion when Nehal composes, by the grace of Guru Sai. She has composed Sanskrit and Hindi Bhajans and Kirtans, and Gujarati Geet Ghazals.
THE RADIO ARTIST AND ANCHOR:
Nehal has acquitted herself well as a radio announcer and television program conductor. Enlisted as a professional radio and TV artist, she has done valuable recordings, also through the reputed record label ‘Music Today’. Recognized as a child artist by All India Radio at the age of twelve, she recorded six songs.
She has 16-plus years of experience, both in India and the USA as a radio jockey. She had a Classical Raags-based show called ‘Sur Taal’ on Radio Zindagi ,1550 AM which was on air for 9 years.
She had a special Gujarati Program, ‘Rangilu Gujarat,’ every Sunday on Radio Zindagi 1550 AM at 08:00 AM PST.
Gujarati show Gamtu ne Gunjatu Gujarat is on air on Radio Zindagi 1550 AM every Sunday at 8 AM PST.
THE JUDGE:
Nehal has been given numerous opportunities to serve as an honorable judge in various singing and dance competitions organized by various prestigious South Asian associations such as FIA (Federation of Indian Associations), AIA (Association of Indo Americans), ICA (Indian Cultural Association), FIJI IDOL, FOG IDOL, CCF (Charitable Care Foundation), and Aneri Arts.
